Recent PhD from Bournemouth University (Nov 2025). My background spans signal processing and automation. I tend to work across the full stack—from developing AI models to designing and building hardware prototypes. This comes from years of working on projects where I needed to handle both the algorithms and the physical implementation.
I'm looking for opportunities in both Speech AI/LLMs and electronics/embedded systems. While these might seem like different fields, they're both areas I've worked in extensively and enjoy working on.
🎙️ AI & Speech Processing
- Speech synthesis (TTS): parallel and autoregressive models, style adaptation
- LLMs and conversational AI systems
- Audio signal processing and analysis
- Mid-scale (1B) Model training and deployment
- Contributing to open-source speech tools
🔧 Electronics & Hardware
- Embedded programming: C++ for microcontrollers, ROS
- CAD and mechanical design, 3D printing
- RF systems and wireless communications
- Sensor integration (range, ultrasonic, seismic, environmental)
- Prototyping from circuit design to enclosure
Experience
2021-2025: PhD Research (EPSRC-funded)
Worked on TTS systems (parallel and autoregressive) and style adaptation techniques as part of my thesis. Also developed virtual assistant chatbots for health diagnostics.
2019-2020: IoT Startup, Wuhan
Small predictive IoT company working on embedded systems (ended during COVID-19).
2015-2017: Comcept Limited
Worked on sensors and automation for telecom and defense contracts. Projects included fully-automatic tank autoloaders, precision weather sensors, range sensors, RF detectors/jammers, and ultrasound/seismic sensors.
Freelance Projects
Over the years, I've built prototypes for industrial experiments and custom gadgets for theater productions. Usually handling everything from programming to nuts and bolts. Open to RF-related projects.
Open Source
Contributed to Arduino libraries, 3D printing resources, and speech processing tools.
